MARION COUNTY, Ind  – Attorneys for former Vigo County School Superintendent Dan Tanoos have filed a motion asking the judge in his case to dismiss the bribery charges against him.

Marion County prosecutors believe a judge should deny a motion because the charges are appropriate.

Tanoos’ lawyers say that Marion County is the proper venue for this case and that it was not made clear why bribery charges are appropriate.

Marion County says ESG which is the company accused of paying the bribes, is based in Indianapolis, and the solicitations from Tanoos came via email, therefore, Marion County is the proper venue.

A hearing in the case is set for later this month.
