Subject In Standoff Faces Charges

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.  – The man that police say was at the center of a standoff on Monday night now faces charges.

25 year old Jerry Smith refused to come out of a home near 14th and Poplar Streets after police were called.

It was believed that there were weapons in the home.

A few hours after police arrived, Smith did come out and was arrested on charges strangulation and domestic battery.

He also has two warrants out of another county.

Smith is being held on $20,000 bond with no 10%.

He will be back in court on Friday.
