County By County Unemployment Numbers Released

INDIANA – For the first time in months a Wabash Valley county is not at the top of the list for unemployment, but several local counties are in the top 10.

Howard County has the highest unemployment rate in the state at 8.3%.

Vermillion County has been at the top for several months this year but in November fell to third place with an unemployment rate of 5.2%.

Greene County was 6th at 4.9%, Sullivan County was 10th at 4.9% the same as Vigo County which placed 11th.

Parke County was 19th at 4.1% followed by Clay County in 20th at 4.0%.

Putnam County was 46th at 3.6%.

Dubois County has the lowest unemployment rate in the state at 2.7%.
