TERRE HAUTE, Ind.  – It appears that a third anchor store has closed its doors at the Honey Creek Mall.

Sears has been conducting a store closing sale for the past few months.

This week doors were closed and workers could be seen inside moving display racks and other items out.

Even thought the Terre Haute store and many others have closed the bankrupt retailer isn’t completely dead yet.

The company that was once worth close to $30 billion according to MarketWatch might yet continue as the bankruptcy court considers options and offers.

Neil Saunders, managing director at GlobalData Retail was quoted as saying that elements of Sears’ business such as the automotive side, the online operations, the brands, and the various home services might live on even if the brick and mortar stores as we know them fade away.

As for Honey Creek Mall, Macy’s closed early in 2018 and Carson’s went bankrupt and closed not long after that. Now it appears that current owners CBL Properties is looking for a buyer for the mall.
