VIGO COUNTY, Ind – Vigo County Sheriff’s Deputies were called out just after 7 a.m. today were called to 7755 Red Cherry St on a domestic violence situation in progress.

When deputies arrived, they met outside the residence, by the female involved.  Deputies attempted to speak to the male subject who was in the home, but he had barricaded himself inside.  Officers say that Chad Herzog) was wanted for probation violation out of Owen County, failure to appear warrant out of Johnson County, and an active order against the female subject.

Several agencies responded including Indiana State Police, Terre Haute Police Department, and DNR.

Multiple attempts were made by telephone and P.A. system to have Herzog exit the home.  Deputies of the Vigo County Sheriff’s, Officers of the Terre Haute Police Department, and Troopers with the Indiana State Police forced entry into the home at approximately 9:15am.

Herzog was arrested and charged with Criminal Confinement while armed with a deadly weapon, Intimidation, and Invasion of Privacy.

He is being held without bond.
