Resident At Local Nursing Found Outside, Dies Due To Hypothermia

VIGO COUNTY, Ind – Vigo County Sheriff’s Deputies say that in early Saturday (1/26/19) morning officers were called to Bethesda Gardens in southern Vigo County about a possible cardiac arrest.  The Honey Creek Fire Department and Transcare were also called to the scene.

An elderly female resident was discovered outside of the building on the grounds and unresponsive.

The female resident was identified as 75 year old Veronica Hoffman.

She was pronounced dead at Regional Hospital.

An autopsy was performed Monday and Hoffman died of hypothermia and the cause of death was accidental.
