Greencastle Man Killed In Friday Crash On I-70

HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind – A Greencastle man was killed in a two vehicle crash along I-70 early Friday morning. Emergency crews received the call just after 6:00 a.m. of a serious crash eastbound on I-70 at the 59 mile marker, near the Monrovia Exit.

Police say that first responders located a male driver inside a car that was unconscious and not breathing.

Despite life saving efforts 59 year old Robert Lange was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigating officers believe an Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) plow truck had pulled off the right side of the roadway onto the shoulder due to minor mechanical issues. The INDOT truck was all the way off the roadway and had emergency yellow flashing lights activated. It appears the car spun out of control as it approached the area and struck the rear end of the plow truck.

The driver of the INDOT Truck was not injured.

Indianapolis media reports are that Lange was a teacher in the Indianapolis public schools.
