TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The defendant in a Vigo County fatal shooting has pleaded guilty as part of a plea agreement.
Nathan Derickson has pleaded guilty to reckless homicide in connection to the death of 17-year-old Garrett Sands.
Derickson was 19 at the time of the crime.
The plea agreement caps a potential prison sentence to 10-years.
Sentencing is set for April 26th.
News 10 reports that Garrett’s parents agree with the terms of the plea agreement.
