TERRE HAUTE, Ind – Indiana State University students have approved a new health and wellness fee by referendum vote.

Student voting was conducted Tuesday and Wednesday this week.

Just over 68% of about 1,000 students voted in favor of the fee.

The new $75 per semester fee for most students must now be approved by the board of trustees and would likely begin no earlier than fall 2020.

The additional funds would be used to fund increased mental health services and prevention programming.
