TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – At Monday night’s Vigo County School Board meeting the administration reported that they were looking into a recent high absence rate at Honey Creek Middle School.

On last Friday the school had 21% of students out.

Schools are required to report a rate of 20% or more to the county health department and that was not done. Officials a looking into the reason for the lack of reporting.

Officials are trying to determine just why that many students were out. They aren’t yet sure if it was health related or some other issue.

The board also approved a proposal with Wellness for Life on Integrated Mechanical Care. It means physical therapy services can now be offered at the clinic used by district employees and that is expected to provide a meaningful cost savings.

The next school board meeting is Monday, April 8th at 6 pm at the administration building.
