Plea Deal For Woman Who Assisted Criminal

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – A Terre Haute woman charged with assisting a criminal accepts a plea deal in court Monday.

During a change of plea hearing, 43-year-old Teresa Pitts pleaded guilty to assisting a criminal. A count of obstruction of justice was dismissed.

In exchange for that plea, the deal calls for her to be sentenced to two years in prison, followed by a year of work release.

A sentencing hearing is scheduled for April 29.

Teresa’s brother, Kenneth Pitts has been charged with the murder of Alice “Anita” Oswald’ and police say that she helped him evade capture.
