House Passes Increased Penalties For Stop Arm Violators

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.  – The Indiana House has passed a bill that would increase penalties for violating a school bus stop arm.

A conference committee is expected to hear the bill next week.

The bill also mandates roadside pickup on highways.

This version of the bill does not have a provision on districts paying for stop arm camera with offender fees.

This effort has had a lot of support since the accident that killed three children waiting on their bus.
