Reckless Driving Sends Driver To Hospital With Life-Threatening Injuries

PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind – Indiana State Police are investigating a single vehicle crash that has left one man in the hospital with serious injuries.

It happened just after 11:00 a.m. this morning (Thursday 3/28/19) in the west bound lanes of Interstate 70, near the 42 mile marker.

Witnesses told police that the 2005 Chevrolet Corvette, driven by a 55 year old Martin Samourian, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, was traveling at a very high rate of speed and weaving in and out of traffic recklessly when he lost control, hit a guard rail and spun several times across the highway.

Samourian was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.

He was flown to Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis, with life-threatening injuries. 

Police are continuing their investigation and are awaiting toxicology results.
