WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind – Water rates could soon be going up in West Terre Haute.

The West Terre Haute Municipal Water Utility is proposing a 26% water rate increase. Water bills for the average home user would go from a minimum of $25.89 for 3,000 gallons to $32.64 per month.

The Town Council will hold a public hearing on the proposed rate increase tonight at 7:00 p.m. Residents can voice their comments at a public meeting tonight at the West Terre Haute Town Hall.
