Two Arrested After Parke County Inmate Attempts To Escape

PARKE COUNTY, Ind – A Parke County woman and man have both been arrested on multiple charges after an attempted escape.

Around 3:45 Friday afternoon a Parke County Jail Officer was attacked by a female inmate near Lyford during a transport back from an area hospital.

During the struggle a passerby and Parke County Deputies, Rockville Police Department and an ISP Officer all arrived on scene to provide help and bring the situation under control.

31 year old Ashli Ann Hedges of Montezuma is now facing additional felony charges of Atttempted Escape and Battery on Law Enforcement Resulting in Injury. She was originally being held on charges of Burglary, Auto Theft and Theft.

The Parke County Sheriff’s Office investigation uncovered an escape plot between Hedges and 30 year old Paul D. Trosper of Montezuma. Trosper was found and arrested in Montezuma within approximately two hours and is being held on a charge of Conspiracy To Commit Escape.

The Jail Officer was treated and released from an area hospital for the injuries that she suffered in the attack.
