Kentucky Derby Could Be Wet With Rain In The Forecast

LOUISVILLE, Ky.–The horses may be running on a wet track for Saturday’s Kentucky Derby. The forecast in Louisville is calling for a good chance of rain. Last year’s Kentucky Derby was the wettest ever — more than three inches of rain fell on Churchill Downs. But that didn’t bother Justify, who raced to a 2 1/2 length victory.

Hall of Fame jockey Mike Smith will ride the favorite in Saturday’s Kentucky Derby, Omaha Beach.

Smith was aboard last year’s Triple Crown champion Justify.
