
VIGO COUNTY, Ind. – A man is facing charges after police respond to a domestic situation around 8:30 a.m. Thursday morning.
Police say that there was evidence that 58 year old Ronald Reik injured a woman at an apartment on Clinton Road
When officers arrived on scene they say that Reik ran out of the apartment, and deputies ran after him.
Police say that they heard a shot.
Officers say that Reik did not have a gun but had a shotgun shell and a pair of pliers somehow caused the shell to detonate.
He received medical attention and was taken to the hospital.
He was charged with domestic battery, criminal recklessness, and resisting law enforcement.
He also reportedly banged his head against the metal cage while being held in a squad car
He will make his first court appearance later today (Friday 5/3/19).
