ELKHART CO., Ind. — An Elkhart man is accused of calling 911 more than 2,000 times in two days.
Isaias Blue Moreno Jr. was charged with unlawful use of 911 service and harassment on Monday.
Back in January, dispatchers at the county’s Public Safety Communications Center said a man called 911 repeatedly and made statements that included sexually explicit comments or threats.
They said the calls were preventing them from quickly answering other calls from people in need of assistance.
The calls were traced back to an apartment on West Marion Street, said the Goshen News.
A detective spoke to Blue Moreno at the apartment. He said he didn’t make the calls, but when police searched the home, they found four mobile phones. The calls also stopped after the detective talked to Blue Moreno.
Blue Moreno’s initial hearing is scheduled for June 14.
