TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — A casino is all but certain to come to Terre Haute after state lawmakers passed a gaming bill allowing one of the Lake County casino licenses to move to Vigo County.

Many residents for it, against it, and indifferent showed up to a public forum Tuesday to learn about a variety of topics surrounding the casino, such as where it will be built and how the tax money generated could be spent.

The next step for the casino is for resident to vote on it in a referendum.

If the referendum passes, the Indiana Gaming Commission would need a proposal for a casino to be built in Terre Haute.
