TERRE HAUTE, Ind. –  New tragic information about a motorcycle crash Tuesday night in Vermillion County.

Rachael Smith suffered abrasions but her husband Danny Joe Smith, Jr. was flown to an Indianapolis hospital but it has been learned that he will not survive and arrangements are being made to donate his organs.

Rachael is the sister of Garrett Sands who was shot and killed last year at a party.

Rachael and her mother, Jayna Sullivan, created the Garrett Sands Kindness Project.

Sullivan told News 10 that the family is working with the hospital to arrange a “donor walk” which is a final walk for families as their loved one is moved from the intensive care unit to the operating room with other people lining the hallways as a sendoff and salute to the patient.
