PARKE COUNTY, Ind – The Fourth Annual Parke County Rumble motorcycle ride and show, hosted by Ivy Tech Community College Terre Haute and Thirty-Six Saloon in Rockville, raised nearly $15,000 for Parke County students on Saturday, June 22. Funds raised from the event will support Parke County students pursuing an education with Ivy Tech, including high school students who are earning an Ivy Tech college credential.

Specifically, funds support Parke County high school students who are pursuing the Ivy Tech “Start as a Sophomore” program to earn the Statewide Transfer General Education Core technical certificate.

More than 50 riders participated in the event. The motorcycle ride began at noon at the Thirty-Six Saloon and riders toured scenic Parke County, stopping at sponsored stops in the area, including Cross at a Walk Britton Winery, Bridgeton Mill, Roseville Covered Bridge, Montezuma Fish & Game Club, and Old Jail Inn & Drunk Tank Winery. After the ride, the motorcycle show was held at Thirty-Six Saloon and winners were awarded in the People’s Choice, Custom Color, Earliest Entry, and Chancellor’s Choice categories.

Lea Anne Crooks, chancellor of Ivy Tech Terre Haute, met riders at stops along the way and thanked participants at the culmination of the day’s activities.

“On behalf of Ivy Tech, I want to thank Parke County sponsors and event participants for welcoming Ivy Tech into your community,” said Crooks. “Parke County is very important to us. Many students from Parke County high schools start college early at Ivy Tech and we are committed to helping them reach their educational goals.”

The Ivy Tech Community College Terre Haute Foundation anticipates awarding more than $200,000 in scholarships for Ivy Tech students in the academic year 2019-2020.
