INDIANAPOLIS, Ind – More than half of the Square Donuts shops in Indiana have been closed due to a contract disagreement.

The Indianapolis Business Journal reported Monday that two locations in Indianapolis and one in Carmel were closed late last week.

Rick Comer Jr., owner of the Terre Haute-based chain, told IBJ that the shops could reopen if an agreement is reached.

The two Square Donut shops in Terre Haute and two in Bloomington are not affected.

Square Donuts was founded in 1967 here in Terre Haute.

The first licensed locations outside of Terre Haute were opened in 2006.
