Local Counties Have Some Of The Highest Unemployment In The State

INDIANA – County by county unemployment numbers for June have been released.

Four counties from the Wabash Valley are in the top ten.

Vermillion County has had the highest unemployment in the state on a regular basis but for June it was tied with Fayette County with 4.7% unemployment.

Owen, Green, Sullivan and Vigo counties were also in the Top 10.

Parke County was in 12 place, while Putnam county was in 19th.

Clay County was 30th.

Gibson county had the lowest unemployment in the state at 2.5%.
