Two Arrested On Drug Charges And For Trying To Cash Altered Check

PARKE COUNTY, Ind – Two people have been arrested in for allegedly trying to cash an altered check which leads to drug charges.

Police say that a resident told offices that Tuesday (7/30/19) that she had received a call from her bank that a couple attempted to cash an altered check from her account.

Officers arrested 33-year-old Tony McCleery of Rockville and 34-year-old Courtney Russell of Indianapolis.

Russell had a warrant for her arrest out of Marion County for Probation Violation and is now facing charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Marijuana, Check Theft and Check Fraud.

McCleery was charged with false informing.

Deputies also located a bag containing stolen mail from Parke County residence.

They are currently investigating the bag of stolen MAIL and additional charges are possible.

Russell’s bond was set at $10,000 no 10% and MCleerys bond was set at $5000
