TERRE HAUTE, Ind – Vigo County Deputies are investigating an armed robbery at the Kroger on Terre Hautes south side that happened early Friday morning.

Vigo County Sheriff John Plassee said that two white males, one appearing to be older was wearing a white shirt with black graphics, red beanie and cargo shorts.  The other male was approximately 18 years of age and was wearing a camouflage hoodie and dark pants.

The older male was in the store for approximately 15 minutes loading a shopping cart full of items while the younger male stood in the entrance way. By 7:20am, the male walked passed all points of sale, exiting the store and straight to his vehicle without paying. Two Kroger employees witnessed this occur and followed the individuals to their vehicle which was an older model dark blue or purple Dodge Durango.

One employee asked for a receipt while the males were putting the items inside their vehicle. The older male then reached into the passenger side of the vehicle and pulled out a shot gun and chambered a round. The two store employees ran away and back to the store. The subjects then fled from the scene in their vehicle.
