Rockville Police Busy During “Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over” Campaign

ROCKVILLE, Ind – Over a 25-day period, the Rockville Police Department issued 44 traffic citations and made 6 arrests as part of the national Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign.

A total of 5 Rockville Officer’s worked a total of 84 overtime hours of traffic enforcement which resulted in the 44 traffic citations as well as 4 Minor Consuming Alcohol arrests, 2 Criminal Misdemeanor arrests and 1 Felony DUI arrest. Six individuals were cited for speed in excess of 11-15 miles over the speed limit and 2 for 16-20 miles over the speed limit as well as one for speeding over 20 miles an hour over the posted limit. Three individuals were cited for Driving while their license was suspended.  It also resulted in 129 warnings for speed violations and 43 warnings for other traffic and or license violations for a total of 172 written warnings.

About 230 Indiana law-enforcement agencies joined thousands nationwide to increase roving patrols, saturation patrols and sobriety checkpoints. Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over is supported with National Highway Traffic Safety Administration funds distributed by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.
