FORT WAYNE, Ind. — General Motors workers across the country are officially on strike.
Nearly 50-thousand GM employees around the country — including those at the plant in Fort Wayne, Indiana — are not showing up for work Monday after contract talks broke down this weekend.
The United Auto Workers says workers are demanding fair wages, affordable healthcare and a fair share of profits.
In Fort Wayne the 716 acre plant has 4,231 hourly and 314 salaried employees.
