Council And Mayor Discuss Budget

TERRE HAUTE, Ind – The Terre Haute City Council and Mayor held a special meeting Monday evening to discuss and answer questions about the proposed 2020 budget. Few attended.

The proposed 2020 budget totals $97.1 million in all funds with a projected balance of $1.2 million.

The 2020 budget is a 4.3% increase over 2019 and includes two additional Code Enforcement officers, some new equipment and vehicles for several department, road reconstruction project for Lafayette Avenue, and a four percent salary increases for full-time staff, except elected officials.

The next meeting for public comment is set for 5:30 p.m. September 23 in the City Hall Courtroom.
