VERMILLION  COUNTY, Ind – Late last week Vermillion County Deputies were called about a car that had reportedly ran off the road, hit a guard rail and then kept going on SR63.

The vehicle was later found in the O’Riley’s auto parts store parking lot just off of SR 163.

Deputies met the driver, 63 year old Karla Cummins of Universal, as she was exiting the store.

Police say that she admitted that she was the one who struck the guard rail.

Deputies say that she failed field sobriety testing.

She later was found to be under the drugs after testing at Union Hospital Clinton.

She was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance and leaving the scene of an accident.
