INDIANA – County by county unemployment numbers have been released and the Wabash Valley has three of the top 10 highest rates in the state.

Vermillion County which has been in the #1 position several times this year. During the month of September Vermillion County is down to third position with an unemployment rate of 4.2%.

Vigo County is in sixth position at 3.6 percent, Sullivan County is in seventh position at 3.5%.

 

Other counties in the Wabash Valley:

 

Greene County is at 13^th place with a 3.2% rate

Parke County is at 20^th with a 3.1% rate

Clay County is 28^th with rate of 2.9%

Putnam County is 48 with a rate of 2.7%

 

The state unemployment rate is 2.8%
