VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind – The Vermillion County Sheriff’s Department reports that they have received calls about someone calling asking for donations for the FOP and telling people that the Parke-Vermillion FOP has closed and disbanded. This appears to be a scam and is untrue.

Sheriff Mike Phelps says that the Parke-Vermillion FOP is very active in both counties and have members that include both Sheriff’s Offices, Clinton and Rockville Police Departments and most of the Town Marshal’s in both counties along with some Indiana State Police officers and officers from surrounding agencies of Marion County.

The Parke-Vermillion FOP does NOT solicit donations by phone, EVER, but we do rely on donations from citizens and businesses in Parke and Vermillion Counties. All funds are used for Cops and Kids activities such as youth sports, scholarships and the Cops and Kids Christmas program (formerly called Shop with a Cop).
