VIGO COUNTY, Ind – Vigo County School officials are giving the all clear after mold problem at West Vigo Elementary School last month.

Communications Director for the school system Bill Riley said in a release that the corporations’ efforts to remediate the mold over the Thanksgiving Break were successful. The affected rooms had carpet replaced with vinyl composite tile, were repainted, all ceiling tiles were replaced, hard surfaces were scrubbed, duct work was cleaned, air handler unit filters were changed, and commercial air scrubbers were brought in to clean the air.

Riley said that their independent air quality company retested the affected rooms and they showed that the mold had been remediated.

Students will now be allowed to return to those classrooms.
