WASHINGTON, D.C. — On Tuesday morning, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that the Democrats and the Trump administration reached an agreement to move forward with the United States-Mexico-Canada trade agreement.

Indiana Senator Mike Braun, a Republican, says it’s about time.

The two sides had been working for more than a year to come to an agreement on the details of USMCA.

“When it’s all said and done, it will be a win-win for everyone,” Braun said. “It’s good in general, because Mexico and Canada are our two biggest trading partners.”

Braun says he believes the USMCA trade agreement will bring even more jobs, which is “hard to imagine, with how good the employment rate already is.”

He said the only “loser” in today’s announcement is Pelosi, “simply because she drug her feet on this for months.”

The Trump administration has to submit ratifying legislation to Congress for the House to move forward with approving the agreement. The White House is expected to submit text in the coming days.
