PENDLETON, Ind.–Two felony counts of child molestation were filed against the Executive Director of Technology for the Indiana Department of Correction.

State police began investigating Thomas Francum, 51, August 1, 2019. He lives in a leased home on the grounds of the Pendleton Correctional Facility.

Francum was told Aug. 30 a search warrant would be served at his home. Officers say incidents involving a child younger than 10 happened at the home between August 2010 and August 2016.

They believe the victim was less than 10 at the time of the initial incident.

Once the investigation was done, the case was turned over to the Madison County Prosecutor’s Office. Prosecutors charged Francum with two counts of child molestation.

Francum was arrested and taken to the Madison County Jail Wednesday. He was later released on bond.

According to David Bursten, the chief communications officer for the Indiana Department of Correction, Francum was suspended without pay on Aug. 30, 2019, when IDOC learned of the state police investigation.

Now, as a result of his arrest, Francum will likely be terminated from the department by the end of the week, Bursten said.
