TERRE HAUTE, Ind.  – A Terre Haute man has been sentenced as part of a plea agreement for driving a criminal to Walmart.

Under the agreement, James Blair entered a guilty plea to assisting a criminal and a charge of false informing was dropped.

In March of 2018 police say Blair hid Michael Reynolds who was accused of shooting and killing his ex-girlfriend and shooting another man who survived.

Eventually Reynolds was found by police at his home on First Avenue.

During a two day standoff with police, Reynolds managed to leave the home without police knowing.

Police say that Blair drove Reynolds to the south side Walmart where he purchased a cell phone and other items.

Eventually Reynolds returned to his home where he was shot and killed by police at the end of the standoff.

Police say that Reynolds had fired shots at them.

Blair was sentenced to four years with just over one year to be spent on in-home detention and the rest will be informal probation.
