VIGO COUNTY, Ind. – At Monday night’s Vigo County School Board meeting the board decided not to decide on proposed spending cuts to get deficit spending under control.

The spending cuts were removed from the agenda for the meeting before it even started.

Some board members said they still have questions they need answers to before they can vote.

Some members of the public were not happy with the about the topic being removed as that was the main reason some attended.

Budget cuts could come up at next month’s meeting.

The board did appoint new officers at a special organization meeting prior to the regular board meeting but the choices were not unanimous.

Hank Irwin was elected as president, and Susan Powers as vice president but the vote for both was 4-3 in favor.

Both were newly elected to the board in 2018.
