TERRE HAUTE, Ind.  – Homelessness is a problem across the county and here in the Wabash Valley.

Over half a million people are homeless on any given day over half may stay in shelters but that leaves around 35% on the street.

Mental Health America of West Central Indiana has been selected for a fast-tracked funding program. It will provide the funding and technical assistance necessary to develop an apartment complex that provides supportive housing for people experiencing homelessness in the Wabash valley.

This program, administered by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority in partnership with the Corporation for Supportive Housing,

MHA of West Central Indiana already operates three complexes that provide housing for the homeless in Terre Haute.

The new complex is now in the planning stages.

Groundbreaking could happen as soon as spring 2021.
