More Details Released In Fatal Vigo County Crash

VIGO COUNTY, Ind – More details have been released into the investigation of a fatal accident in northern Vigo County that happened just before noon on January 19th.

Investigators said 60 year old David Hoffa, of Terre Haute, died of injuries after his truck was hit and he was ejected on Indiana 63 near Durkees Ferry Road.

Results of the investigation and eyewitness accounts show that Hoffa’s truck  was traveling on highway 63 and was hit by another truck driven by 74-year-old Lloyd Lenderman of West Terre Haute.

Lenderman said that he did not see Hoffa’s truck.

After being hit, Hoffa’s truck rolled several times and came to rest upside down.

Hoffa was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected.

He was later pronounced dead at an Indianapolis hospital.

Hoffa was a teacher and coach at Honey Creek Middle School.
