TELL CITY, Ind. — An Indiana State Police trooper is in the hot seat after setting his own house on fire.

On Oct. 13, 44-year-old Jeremy Galloway’s house and outbuilding caught on fire in Tell City.

The Tell City Fire Department was able to get the fires put out, but the house had heavy smoke and fire damage, and the outbuilding was destroyed.

Investigators determined the fires were caused by arson.

ISP says Galloway was arrested Tuesday morning for arson, insurance fraud, and arson with intent to defraud.

Galloway was taken to the Perry County Jail, and ISP has placed him on administrative leave without pay.

He’s worked for the Jasper ISP post for about 8 years.
