PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind.  – A Terre Haute man accused of killing a Greencastle woman has been arrested.

28-year-old John Gonzalez, of Terre Haute has been charged with the murder of 44-year-old Melissa ‘Lisa’ Attkisson.

She was found dead of blunt force trauma at the end of January at a home on Berry Street in Greencastle.

The Greencastle Banner Graphic newspaper reports that Attkisson was his girlfriend.

Police located Gonzalez on Monday in Illinois reportedly with her car nearby and some of her personal items.

Several different police agencies from both Indiana and Illinois assisted in the investigation.

Gonzalez is also facing charges in Vigo County for parole violation.
