Unwanted Guest Call To Police Leads To Drug Bust

SULLIVAN, Ind – An unwanted guest at a residence resulted in a multi-agency drug bust in Sullivan.

A week ago on Wednesday February 5 around 12:40 PM, Sullivan County Sheriff’s Dispatch received a report of an unwanted guest at a residence on N. State St. in Sullivan.

When police arrived, the homeowner told officers 24-year-old Logan Berg of North Main St., Sullivan, had already left the residence. The homeowner told police that Berg should not be allowed to return. Officers then went to Berg’s home to serve a no trespass order.

Officers were met by Berg at the front door of the residence. During the conversation officers noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the home.

Police were given signed consent to search the residence from both Berg and 24-year-old Deana Goble who was also a resident and in the home.

As officers started to search, Berg ran out the back door of the residence, and fled on foot.

A short time later Berg was found hiding in a shed a few blocks away.

A search of his residence found 315 grams of methamphetamine, 56 grams of marijuana, 58 grams of synthetic cannabis, and numerous prescription pills.

Officers also found $19,650 in US currency along with four handguns.

Berg was charged with Dealing Methamphetamine – a level two felony, Dealing Schedule I Synthetic Cannabis – a level two felony, Dealing Controlled Substance a level 3 felony, Dealing Marijuana – a level 6 felony, Possession of Methamphetamine – a level 3 felony, Possession of a Scheduled 1 Synthetic Cannabis, Possession of Paraphernalia, Possession of a schedule 5 control Possession of Paraphernalia, Possession of a Schedule 4 control substance – a level 3 felony and Resisting Law Enforcement – a class A misdemeanor.

His bond is $190,000 with 10% allowed.

Deana Goble was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine a level 3 felony, Possession of a Synthetic Cannabis – a level 6 felony, Dealing in Methamphetamine – a level 2 felony, Dealing in Marijuana – a level 6 felony, Dealing in a Controlled Substance – a level 2 felony, Possession of a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance a felony, and Possession of Paraphernalia – a misdemeanor.

Her bond is $90,000. Cash only.
