Airport Has A Say In What Can Be Built On East Side

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.  – The Terre Haute Regional Airport Board members are working with an Indianapolis consultant to develop its Airport Gateway Strategic Plan.

The goal is to help boost growth and development on the east side.

Executive Director Jeff Hauser says if developers look to build within five miles of the facility, they have to be notified. That’s because it could interfere with airport operations and runways. That means that the airport plays a big role in deciding what happens on the east side.

Hauser told News 10 that they are going to put a map together that shows how far out, how high, and what kind of structures can be built. That map will then be given to both city and county officials.

He said that it will also be published on their website.
