Speeding Leads To Meth Arrest

VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind – Wednesday (2/12/2020) just before noon, Vermillion County Deputies spotted a vehicle driving erratically through the Cayuga Park (Vermillion County Fair Grounds).  The vehicle exited the park and failed to stop at a stop sign.  The vehicle went east toward the S.R 63 and was clocked going 43 MPH in a 25 MPH zone.  The vehicle failed to stop at S.R. 63 and turned south.

Deputies stopped the vehicle and officers say that the driver was acting suspiciously.

K9 Scout performed an exterior sniff of the vehicle and alerted to narcotic odors on the driver’s side of the vehicle and methamphetamine was found.

The driver, 57-year-old Brian Sears of Cayuga, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine.

He is being held in the Vermillion County Jail with bond set at $10,000.
