VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind – Friday (2/14/20) a Vermillion County Deputy was stopped by an employee at the Clinton Wal-Mart about a suspected shoplifter.

The person was described as a female with short blonde hair and wearing a grey sweatshirt.  The woman was stopped as she left the store.

36 year old Marie Schmitt of Terre Haute was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Schmitt was arrested on charges of theft, possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $10,000 with 10 percent allowed.
