SULLIVAN COUINTY, Ind – Indiana State Police are investigating an accident that happened Sunday afternoon on US 41 near County Road 1100 North.

Troopers say that around 4:30 p.m. an SUV, driven by 36-year-old Timothy E. Stone of Sullivan was traveling northbound on US 41 at a high rate of speed, when he was slowed due to two vehicles traveling on US 41 side by side.

Stone attempted to travel between the two vehicles, striking a vehicle in the driving lane, driven by 54-year-old Jasvir S. Sadra, of Shelburn.

Sadra’s pickup was forced off the road and rolled landing on its roof.

Stone’s vehicle then traveled to the north side of US 41 into the grassy median, rolling over on it’s top, and catching fire.

Police say that Stone showed signs of impairment.

Testing showed that Stone was under the influence of marijuana and amphetamines.

He was arrested and taken to jail.
