VIGO COUNTY, Ind – Monday (3/2/20) afternoon around 3:30 Vigo County Deputies attempted to make a traffic stop on a silver Mercedes Benz in the area of 13th and Poplar streets.

Officers recognized the driver as the driver as Nathanial Wells.

He was wanted on a warrant issued in a Vigo County Court.

Police say that the vehicle was displaying false and fictitious license plate.

The vehicle refused to stop.

The pursuit continued for several miles.

Officers used “stop sticks” at 25th and Margaret Avenue and the car was stopped at 27th and Washington streets.

The suspect then fled on foot but was captured shortly by a Sheriff’s K-9.

Wells was taken into custody and transported to the hospital for treatment.

He is being charged vehicle theft, felony resisting, criminal mischief, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, reckless driving and the arrest warrant.
