WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Hoosiers are taking action in combating the coronavirus.

Purdue University researchers have been developing a test for the coronavirus since 2016. In it’s current form, the test has strips that can reveal a severe coronavirus infection in just an hour.

The ideal version of the test would be like a pregnancy test, being easy to use and using lines to show if you have the virus and how severe it is.

Unfortunately, the research team still needs a few million dollars in funding before they can continue development.
