Terre Haute Woman Killed When Vehicle Is Hit By Deer

EDGAR COUNTY, Ill – A Terre Haute woman is dead after a Wednesday night car deer accident just east of Paris on Highway 150.

Around 8:15 p.m. 911 dispatchers were called by a passerby who reported that a vehicle went off the road and landed in the south side ditch.

The female driver who was later identified as 25 year old Jordan Thorne of went off the road after being hit by a deer.

That deer had been struck by another vehicle and thrown into the windshield of her Honda CRV.

Thorne was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle was not hurt.

The incident remains under investigation by the Edgar County Coroner and the Illinois State Police.
