Driver Of Jet Fuel Tanker Dies

INDIANAPOLIS – The truck driver who was engulfed in flames when his tanker carrying jet fuel crashed and exploded on an Indianapolis highway ramp has died.

59 year old Jeffrey “Duke” Denman, of Brownsburg died Saturday in the burn unit at Eskenazi Hospital Saturday, 16 days after the crash.

The tanker was loaded with approximately 4,000 gallons of jet fuel when it crashed on a ramp from Interstate 70 to I-465 on Indianapolis’ east side on February 20th.

Passersby extinguished the flames engulfing Denman and helped to free him from the truck.
