Kathleen A. Romas, 83 of Centerpoint, IN passed away peacefully in her residence on Thursday, April 2, 2020. She was born on November 5, 1936 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Patrick “Paddy” and Margaret “Peg” (McGann) Lyons.

Kathleen was a real estate broker, retiring in 1998. She was a graduate of St. Benedict School on Irving Park Road in Chicago and Alverno College in Milwaukee. On August 28, 1988 she married Jon Romas. She was a member of Toast Masters O’Hare and Itasca Garden Club and St. Benedict Catholic Church in Terre Haute. She was an expert doubles tennis player and loved to dance. Her parents immigrated from County Mayo, Ireland and she was a thoroughbred Irish lass. She had modeled professionally and had a smile that would “make your day!”.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Margaret Lyons; and a granddaughter, Jacquelyn MacNicholas.

Survivors include her loving husband of 31 years, Jon Romas; a son, Michael Kilroy; daughters, Margie MacNicholas and husband, John, Nancy Alpert and husband, Alan, Kathleen Longtin and husband, Roger; a step-daughter, Dr. Lisa Elliott and husband, Floyd; and step-sons, Jon Dayton Romas and wife, Jenny; grandchildren, Jason Alpert and wife, Jenna, Eric Alpert, Max Alpert, Matt MacNicholas and wife, Sara, Stephanie MacNicholas, Robert Longtin and David Longtin; step-grandchildren, Ignacious Elliott, Benjamin Romas, Alex Romas and Grace Romas; great-granddaughters, Sophia and Mia Alpert and Maeve Rose Alpert; and a sister, Mary Rearden in Winston Salem, NC.

Under the direction of Kathleen’s wishes, she’ll be cremated and a memorial mass will be held at a later date at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 111 S. 9th Street, Terre Haute.
